area of cube

Let us find out area of cube.


Cube of a number is that number raised to the power three
The cube is also said to be as a regular hexahedron & cube is one of the five Platonic solids.
Find the lateral area of cube with side length 4 meter.
Solution
The lateral area of a cube = 4a2 square units
Given, a = 4
So, the lateral area of the given cube = 4 * 42
= 4* 4* 4
= 64
The lateral area of the given cube is 64 square meter.

Find the lateral area of cube whose side length is 3 feet.
Solution
The lateral area of a cube = 4a2 square units
Given, a = 3
So, the lateral area of the given cube = 4 * 32
= 4 * 3 * 3
= 36
The lateral area of the given cube is 36 square feet.
